Stoneware Vessel 6.24

Sale price$326.00
Size4.75" x 4" x 12"

Organic movement and graceful asymmetry give the Sculptural Stoneware Vessel a sense of lightness that belies its solid materiality. Its flowing silhouette and gently undulating rim are only possible through the handmade process, where each gesture remains visible, lending every piece its own distinct character.

Hand built from smooth stoneware and finished with a matte black glaze, this vessel balances the grounded permanence of ceramic with an almost weightless sense of motion. Created by Quebec based artist Karen Quirion, it is equally compelling displayed on its own or with a simple arrangement of branches.

About the Artist
Karen Quirion is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist based in Thetford Mines, Quebec. With a background in fashion design from Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy and the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, her creative practice spans across disciplines, rooted in both structural precision and expressive form. As the founder and creative director of Studio KQK, Karen began working with ceramics in 2020, and it has since become a cornerstone of her artistic identity.

Deeply inspired by brutalist architecture, Karen is a self-taught ceramicist working primarily with clay. Each of her pieces is hand-built using traditional techniques such as coiling, pinching, and slab construction. Her sculptural vases and one-of-a-kind works explore the interplay between rigidity and fluidity - offering a poetic deconstruction of form through an organic lens.
